Why Don't We, also known as WDW, is an American boy band formed in 2016. The group consists of Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jack Avery, and Zach Herron. The members met in Los Angeles in 2015, bonding over their shared love for music, which led them to create the band.
The band made their debut in October 2016 with the single "Taking You," followed by their first EP, Only the Beginning, in November. They quickly gained attention and launched their first headlining tour, the "Taking You Tour," in 2017. The band’s second EP, Something Different, released in April 2017, featured the title track that received heavy airplay on Radio Disney, boosting their popularity. This led to another headlining tour, the "Something Different Tour," that same year.
In June 2017, WDW released their third EP, Why Don't We Just, and signed with Atlantic Records later that year. They then released their fourth EP, Invitation, in September 2017. The band closed out the year with their festive EP, A Why Don't We Christmas, in November.
Throughout their career, Why Don't We has experienced rapid growth, headlining multiple tours, including the Invitation Tour in 2018, in support of their Invitation EP. They’ve also gained a wider audience by appearing in YouTube vlogs of popular influencer Logan Paul, which helped increase their visibility.
Critically, Why Don’t We has received praise for their catchy pop sound and engaging live performances. Their music is known for its youthful energy and heartfelt lyrics, which resonate with fans.
