The Neighbourhood, also called the nbhd, is an American alternative rock band formed in 2011 in Newbury Park, California. The group originally consisted of Jesse Rutherford as the lead vocalist, Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels on guitars, Mikey Margott on bass, and Brandon Fried on drums (until 2022). They gained fame with their 2012 single "Sweater Weather," which peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a viral sensation on TikTok years later.
The band's music blends rock, indie, and atmospheric sounds, earning them a loyal fanbase. Their first EPs, I'm Sorry... and Thank You, led to their debut album, I Love You., in 2013 under Columbia Records. This album established their melancholic yet catchy sound. Songs like "Daddy Issues," "Softcore," and "The Beach" remain fan favorites.
