    "The 1975" is a renowned English pop rock band, Formed in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Currently based in Manchester, the group comprises lead vocalist, principal lyricist, co-songwriter, and rhythm guitarist Matty Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer and co-songwriter George Daniel. The band derived its name from a page of scribblings found in Healy's copy of Jack Kerouac's On the Road, dated "1 June, The 1975."

    Having first met in secondary school, the band members started performing together as teenagers. Their talent and dedication caught the attention of a council worker, who organized gigs for them and eventually led to their signing with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. Building their reputation, they opened for various major acts and released a series of extended plays, including Facedown, ѕєx, Music for Cars, and IV. In 2013, they achieved chart-topping success in the UK with their self-titled debut album, which featured popular singles like "ѕєx," "Chocolate," and "Robbers."
