Sukriti Kakar, born on May 8, 1995, in New Delhi, is a well-known Indian singer. She grew up in a musical family, with her mother being a Hindustani classical music teacher and her elder sister Akriti and twin sister Prakriti also becoming playback singers. Sukriti studied at Mithibai College and later pursued B.M.M at R.D. National College.
Her music career began in 2013 with the title song of Boss, composed by Meet Bros, which marked her entry into Bollywood. That same year, she sang tracks like Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke and Goti Song alongside Prakriti. Sukriti gained wider recognition with Mujhse Hogi Shurvaat, a socially-driven anthem addressing corruption, which earned a nomination at the Honesty Oscars in 2014.
Her first major hit came in 2015 with Pehli Baar from Dil Dhadakne Do, garnering millions of views. She followed it with Jungli Peeke Tight Hai from Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. In 2016, she sang Kar Gayi Chull from Kapoor & Sons, which became a massive success. Later, she lent her voice to Maine Tujhko Dekha from Golmaal Again in 2017, a reimagined version of a 1997 hit.
Apart from Bollywood, Sukriti has a strong presence in non-film music. She collaborated with her sister Prakriti on tracks like Mafiyan, Kehndi Haan Kehndi Naa, and Majnu. In 2021, the sisters partnered with Amaal Mallik and global pop star Dua Lipa for the Indian remix of Levitating, which achieved international acclaim.
