Sven Eric Gamsky (born June 23, 1992) was born in Moraga, California, United States. He is an American singer and songwriter. He is professionally known as Still Woozy. he started making music at 13. His style mixes genres, blending psychedelic and bedroom-pop sounds. Gamsky's debut album, "If This Isn't Nice, I Don't Know What Is," released in 2021, showcases his unique musical approach.
Growing up in Moraga, Sven was part of Boy Scout Troop 212 and became an Eagle Scout. His service project involved remodeling a garden at Donald L. Rheem Elementary School. In 2010, the East Bay Times reported on his achievement, noting his plans to travel, volunteer, and study psychology in college.
Sven attended Campolindo High School, where he played guitar and bass in the band "Shoot for Roots." The band won a Battle of the Bands competition during his senior year. After high school, he taught guitar in Oakland and played in jazz clubs with the band Feed Me Jack. At the University of California, Santa Cruz, he met Tani Kahn, who later joined him on tour. Sven graduated in 2015 with a major in music and a minor in electronic music.
Still Woozy's debut album, If This Isn't Nice, I Don't Know What Is, was released in 2021 and contains 13 songs. The album's title is a quote from Kurt Vonnegut. In a 2021 interview, Sven highlighted the importance of recognizing good moments in life and mentioned that the COVID-19 tour cancellation helped him focus on his album.
The album cover features Sven himself, unlike his previous art. In a 2022 interview, he explained wanting a clear distinction between single art and album cover art. Sven self-produces his music but enlisted his friend Lars Stalfors for this album, finding it helpful to have a "sounding board."
