"Simple Plan" is a popular Canadian rock band that was formed in Montreal, Quebec, in 1999. The band has consistently consisted of four members since its inception, with Pierre Bouvier as the lead vocalist and bassist, Chuck Comeau as the drummer, Jeff Stinco as the lead guitarist, and Sébastien Lefebvre as the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist.
However, in July 2020, David Desrosiers, who had been the bassist and backing vocalist since early 2000, left the band due to accusations of sexual misconduct.
Simple Plan has a rich discography of six studio albums to its credit, including No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls (2002), Still Not Getting Any... (2004), Simple Plan (2008), Get Your Heart On! The band was a regular performer at the Vans Warped Tour, performing every year from 1999 to 2005 and then again in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2018. They also performed at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics, along with appearing on The X Factor Australia. In December 2012, the band performed at Mood Indigo, the college festival of IIT Bombay in Mumbai, India, showcasing their international appeal.
Simple Plan has also appeared in popular media, including the film New York Minute, starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, where they played themselves. The band also performed the Canadian national anthem, O Canada, at the 2016 NHL Winter Classic. In addition to this, they were featured on an episode of What's New, Scooby-Doo?, where they performed the theme music.
