Shawn Mendes

Shawn Peter Raul Mendes (born August 8, 1998) was born in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian pop singer-songwriter. He is professionally known as Shawn Mendes. He first gained widespread recognition in 2013 when he started posting covers of popular songs on the video-sharing platform, Vine. His unique vocal style, coupled with his ability to play the guitar, quickly drew the attention of music enthusiasts and earned him a considerable following on the platform.

The following year, Mendes caught the attention of artist manager Andrew Gertler and Island Records A&R Ziggy Chareton.
