Satinder Pal Singh Saini (born May 18, 1982) was born in Bajrawar vill., Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He is a renowned Punjabi sufi singer, lyricist, poet, and actor who has made a significant contribution to the Punjabi music and film industry. He is professionally known as Satinder Sartaaj. His musical journey began at a young age when he discovered his passion for music. He pursued his education at Panjab University, where he also taught music for six years while working towards his M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees. During his studies, Sartaaj also completed a Diploma in the Persian language and started writing poetry, which led him to adopt his Takhallus, or pen name.
In 2010, Sartaaj gained worldwide recognition and fame with his album "Sartaaj," particularly his song "Sai," which became an instant hit among Punjabi music lovers. He received critical acclaim for his soulful voice, poetic lyrics, and unique style, which helped him carve a niche for himself in the Punjabi music industry.
Sartaaj's contributions to the music industry have not gone unnoticed. In 2011, he won the Best International Act award at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards (BAMA), a prestigious recognition of his talent and hard work.
Besides his musical career, Sartaaj has also made a name for himself in the film industry. He made his debut in the American film industry with the lead role in the movie "The Black Prince," a historic biopic of Maharaja Duleep Singh, which was released in 2017.
