About Saint Jhn
Carlos St. John Phillips (born August 26, 1986) was born in New York City, United States. He is a Guyanese-American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is professionally known as Saint Jhn. His meteoric rise to fame can be traced back to the monumental success of the 2019 remix of his 2016 track "Roses," produced by Kazakh DJ Imanbek.
This remix catapulted Saint Jhn into the upper echelons of global music charts, clinching top positions in the US Billboard Hot 100 and dominating charts across Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The remix not only solidified his position in the music industry but also served as the cornerstone for his third studio album, "While the World Was Burning," which debuted on November 20, 2020.
Prior to this breakout moment, Saint Jhn had already made significant contributions to the music landscape. His debut album, "Collection One," released in 2018, garnered attention for its innovative sound and lyrical depth. This was swiftly followed by the critically acclaimed "Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs" in 2019, both released under L.A. Reid's label Hitco. However, his journey in music began years earlier under his birth name, Carlos St. John, during which he released projects like "The St. John Portfolio" EP and "In Association" mixtape in 2010.
Saint Jhn's talent extends beyond his solo career; he's a sought-after songwriter, penning tracks for industry heavyweights like Kanye West, Usher, and Jidenna. His songwriting prowess was further showcased through collaborations with artists such as Hoodie Allen, Kiesza, and Gorgon City. Notably, his work on Usher's "Hard II Love" album in 2016 earned him significant recognition.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Saint Jhn has ventured into the world of fashion, collaborating with prestigious brands like Gucci for their "Guilty" campaign. His dynamic presence extends to live performances, including appearances at renowned festivals like Rolling Loud and the Voodoo Experience.
Continuing his artistic evolution, Saint Jhn recently embarked on a collaborative project with London on Da Track, releasing the electrifying single "Stadiums" in December 2022. As he continues to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation, Saint Jhn remains a formidable force in the global music landscape, captivating audiences with his distinctive style and undeniable talent.
