Sagopa Kajmer

Sagopa Kajmer, born Yunus Özyavuz on August 17, 1978, in Samsun, Turkey, is a well-known Turkish rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer. He started as a DJ at a local radio station during his youth in Samsun. Later, he moved to Istanbul to study Persian language and literature at Istanbul University, blending education with his growing passion for music. His early influences came from his father's love for African music and his mother’s preference for Italian tunes.

In 1998, Sagopa formed the hip-hop group Kuvvetmira and began performing under the name "Silahsız Kuvvet." He first appeared on the 1999 compilation album Yeraltı Operasyonu. In 2002, he rebranded as Sagopa Kajmer and released his debut album Sagopa Kajmer, which marked the start of his solo career.
