Terrence LeVarr Thornton (born November 26, 1992) was born in New York City, United States. He is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive. He is professionally known as Pusha T. Pusha T initially gained fame as part of the hip-hop duo Clipse, which he formed with his older brother, No Malice. Clipse was active from 1994 to 2010. During this time, they released three studio albums and several mixtapes. Their music included popular singles such as "Grindin'" and "When the Last Time," both of which came out in 2002 and were big hits.
In 2010, Pusha T made a significant move in his career by signing with Kanye West's GOOD Music label, which was a part of Def Jam Recordings at that time. That same year, Pusha T featured on Kanye West’s single "Runaway," which became quite successful and reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The following year, in 2011, Pusha T released his first solo project, a mixtape called Fear of God. This was followed by his debut solo album, My Name Is My Name, which came out in 2013. These releases marked the beginning of Pusha T’s solo career.
In November 2015, Kanye West appointed Pusha T as the president of GOOD Music. Pusha T took on this role, leading the label until 2022 when he decided to leave. During his solo career, Pusha T has released three notable albums. The first was King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude in 2015, followed by Daytona in 2018, and It's Almost Dry in 2022. It's Almost Dry was particularly successful, becoming his first album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Pusha T is known for his complex lyrics and detailed storytelling, often focusing on themes related to drug dealing and street life. He has worked with many famous artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Pharrell Williams. Beyond his music, Pusha T has also been active in business. He has his own clothing line called Play Cloths and has worked as a brand ambassador for several high-end fashion brands.
