About Papa Roach
Papa Roach is a popular American rock band formed in Vacaville, California, in 1993. The band’s original lineup included lead vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, guitarist Jerry Horton, drummer Dave Buckner, bassist Will James, and trombonist Ben Luther. Shaddix and Buckner first met in high school and later formed the band, joined by Mikolajcik, Luther, and James. They gained attention after performing Jimi Hendrix’s "Fire" at a school talent show, marking the start of their musical journey.
Initially a hardcore punk band, Papa Roach quickly evolved, blending genres like alternative metal, nu metal, rap rock, punk rock, and pop rock. Their music also incorporated elements of hip hop and electronic styles, making them known for their versatility. In 1997, they released their debut album Old Friends from Young Years, which received positive reviews and helped establish their reputation in the music scene.
