Vincenzo Mattera (born November 28, 1999) was born in Naples, Italy. He is an Italian rapper who grew up in the neighborhoods of Secondigliano and Fuorigrotta. He is professionally known as Paky. When he was 10, he moved to Rozzano, near Milan. His love for rap started when he saw the filming of a Co'Sang music video as a child. As a teenager, Paky developed a deeper passion for hip-hop by listening to both Italian and international artists.
In February 2019, Paky made his debut under the name Pakartas with the single Tutti i miei fra. He later shortened his stage name to Paky and released his first big hit, Rozzi. This track gained widespread attention and eventually went platinum in Italy, marking the start of his rise in the music scene.
Paky continued gaining momentum in 2019 with Tuta Black, a collaboration with Shiva, which landed him his first entry on the Italian Top Singles chart. Between 2020 and 2021, he worked with several famous Italian artists like Marracash and Sfera Ebbasta, contributing to remixes and hit songs. His own singles like Non scherzare, Boss, and Fendi Belt were certified gold, further boosting his reputation in the Italian hip-hop world.
In early 2022, Paky released Blauer, the lead single for his debut album Salvatore, which dropped in March and quickly climbed to the top of the Italian charts. The album went platinum in under three months. Later that year, Paky released a deluxe edition of Salvatore, featuring new songs like Sharm El Sheikh and La bellavita, the latter being a collaboration with French rapper Jul.
Through his impactful music and collaborations, Paky has solidified his place in the Italian rap scene.
