American R&B Trio
About MoKenStef
MoKenStef was an American R&B trio from Los Angeles, active from 1994 to 2000. The group’s name combined the first syllables of the members’ names: Monifa, Kenya, and Stefanie. They gained recognition with their debut album Azz Izz in 1995, featuring their biggest hit, "He's Mine", which reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and charted at #70 in the UK. Their follow-up single, "ѕєx in the Rain", was less successful, peaking at #41 on the US R&B chart.
The trio’s break came when they impressed producers at Outburst Records, a label under Def Jam, during an impromptu performance. After signing with Outburst, MoKenStef began working on their album and made their mark with appearances on popular shows like Soul Train, All That, and Video Soul, performing their hit song "He's Mine".
