Mitski Miyawaki (born September 27, 1990) was born in Mie Prefecture, Japan. She is a Japanese-American singer and songwriter. She is professionally known as Mitski. She embarked on her musical journey while studying studio composition at Purchase College's Conservatory of Music, during which she self-released her first two albums, "Lush" in 2012 and "Retired from Sad, New Career in Business" in 2013.
