Melanie Martinez

Melanie Adele Martinez (born April 28, 1995) was born in Astoria, Queens, United States. She spent her formative years in Baldwin, New York. She is an American singer and songwriter. She is professionally known as Melanie Martinez. Martinez garnered widespread attention in 2012 when she competed in the popular American television vocal talent show, The Voice. Following her success on the show, she signed with Atlantic Records and released her debut single "Dollhouse," which was a commercial success.

Martinez's debut EP, also titled "Dollhouse," was released in 2014 and received positive reviews from music critics. Her first studio album, "Cry Baby," followed in 2015 and achieved double-platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
