About Mario
Mario Dewar Barrett, known simply as Mario, is an American R&B singer born on August 27, 1986, in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his career at the young age of 14, signing with J Records, and released his debut album, Mario (2002). The album was successful, featuring the hit single "Just a Friend 2002," which reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. His second album, Turning Point (2004), became his most successful release, with the chart-topping single "Let Me Love You." The song earned him two Billboard Music Awards and a Grammy nomination.
Mario’s third album, Go (2007), didn’t achieve the same level of success but included popular singles like "How Do I Breathe" and "Crying Out for Me." His next album, D.N.A. (2009), featured the hit "Break Up" with Gucci Mane and Sean Garrett, which went platinum and landed in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. By 2010, Billboard named Mario among the "Artist of the Decade," acknowledging his impact on the music scene.
