Symere Bysil Woods (born July 31, 1995) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. He is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is professionally known as Lil Uzi Vert. He rose to fame after the release of their commercial mixtape "Luv Is Rage" in 2015. The mixtape's success led them to sign with Atlantic Records, under DJ Drama's Generation Now imprint.
In 2016, Lil Uzi Vert gained mainstream attention with the release of their debut single "Money Longer." The song acted as the lead single for their subsequent mixtape "Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World," which also featured the hit song "You Was Right." Over the following year, Lil Uzi Vert released two additional mixtapes, one of which was a collaboration with Gucci Mane.
In 2017, Lil Uzi Vert was featured on the chart-topping Migos' single "Bad and Boujee," which further solidified their popularity. They later achieved their first top ten single with "XO Tour Llif3," which earned the MTV Video Music Award for Song of Summer. "XO Tour Llif3" also acted as the lead single for Lil Uzi Vert's debut studio album, "Luv Is Rage 2," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified double platinum by the RIAA.
In 2018, Lil Uzi Vert received a nomination for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. They followed up their debut studio album with "Eternal Atake," which was highly anticipated and finally released in 2020, following several years of delays. "Eternal Atake" also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
