Kevin Perez (born April 20, 2003) was born in Belmont, Bronx, New York, United States. He is an American rapper. He is professionally known as Kay Flock. He began his music career in May 2020 with his debut single "FTO." Since then, he has released several popular tracks, including "Opp Spotter" featuring B-Lovee, "Brotherly Love" featuring B-Lovee and Dougie B, and "PSA."
In November 2021, Kay Flock dropped his debut mixtape, The D.O.A. Tape, which quickly climbed to the top of the Heatseekers Albums chart. His song "Is Ya Ready" was featured in Jon Caramanica's top 28 songs of 2021, and "Being Honest," which samples "Changes" by XXXTentacion, was named among Pitchfork's top 38 rap songs of 2021 and top 100 songs of 2021. A remix of "Being Honest" with G Herbo was released in November 2021.
Kay Flock has been compared to late rappers King Von and Pop Smoke for his gritty and authentic style. Asian Doll has even said that King Von would have been a fan of Kay Flock's music. In October 2021, he was featured on Lil Tjay's "Not in the Mood," which also included Fivio Foreign, and the song peaked at number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100. In November of the same year, Billboard named Kay Flock their Hip Hop Rookie of the Month.
In April 2022, Kay Flock released "Shake It" with Dougie B and Cardi B, featuring Bory300. The track peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. Interestingly, the song had been leaked months earlier, but the leaked version featured Yonkers rapper Mula Gzz, whose verse was later replaced with Cardi B's.
