Infected Rain is a heavy metal band from Chișinău, Moldova, formed in 2008. The band was created by guitarist Vadim "Vidick" Ojog, vocalist Elena Cataraga (known as Lena Scissorhands), and DJ Ivan "Kapa" Kristioglo. Known for their unique blend of female screams, heavy guitar riffs, and electronic elements, Infected Rain quickly made their mark on the metal scene.
Their first performance was in August 2008 at a Slayer tribute concert. Soon after, they released a demo with three tracks: With Me, Parasite, and No Idols. Over the years, they gained attention by performing at festivals like Red Alert, Metal Heads' Mission, and Rockstadt Extreme Fest. Their energetic shows and individual style helped them stand out in Moldova and beyond.
In 2011, they released their debut album, Asylum, which was followed by tours in Romania. Their second album, Embrace Eternity, came in 2014, solidifying their presence in the European metal scene with tours across 12 countries. Their 2017 album, 86, was inspired by Lena’s birth year and explored intense themes. The band’s latest album, TIME, was released in February 2024, showcasing their growth as artists.
Throughout their career, Infected Rain has shared stages with big names like Mötley Crüe, Behemoth, and Dimmu Borgir. They are praised for their intense performances and Lena’s commanding stage presence. Over time, they released notable songs like Judgmental Trap, Me Against You, and Stop Waiting, accompanied by creative music videos.
In 2023, the band underwent changes with the departure of the Babich brothers and the arrival of bassist Alice Lane. Despite challenges, Infected Rain continues to innovate and evolve, remaining a strong force in the metal world.
