Shane Niemi, better known by his stage name iamnotshane, is an American singer and songwriter born on August 2, 1995, in Los Angeles. He started performing at the age of 8 and began writing his own songs at 12. Shane's music career began to gain attention when he posted his first music video, "Sinister," in 2014. A year later, he released his first EP, Sad, marking his official entry into the music scene. However, it was in 2016 when his music video for "Insecure" went viral. The video, which featured a version of Michael Jackson's famous anti-gravity lean, quickly gained over 5 million views on YouTube and helped establish his presence in the music industry.

In 2020, Shane changed his stage name to iamnotshane and released his self-titled EP through Avant Garden and Island Records.
