Hong Si-young (born January 24, 1991) was born in Seoul, South Korea. He is a South Korean rapper and singer under the banner of Just Music. He is professionally known as Giriboy. He embarked on his musical journey in 2011 with the release of his debut single "You Look So Good to Me." This marked the initiation of his collaboration with Just Music, a label founded by the renowned rapper Swings.
In 2012, Giriboy unveiled his first EP, "Fatal Album," a collection of tracks he had penned during his high school years. This was swiftly followed by the release of "Fatal Album II" later that same year, showcasing his lyrical prowess and musical versatility.
The year 2014 witnessed Giriboy's participation in the third season of the popular TV show "Show Me the Money." Concurrently, he made his mark on the Gaon Digital Chart with the single "Fluttering Feelings," a collaboration with NS Yoon-G that soared to No. 6 on the charts.
Venturing into diverse projects, Giriboy graced the reality show "No Mercy" in 2015, where he collaborated with contestants who would later form the boy group Monsta X. Simultaneously, he worked with established artists such as Soyou and Mad Clown. His album "Sexual Perceptions" further solidified his presence in the industry, reaching No. 10 on the Gaon Album Chart in March.
Continuing his musical evolution, Giriboy released the compelling "Mechanical Album" in 2016 and the fifth EP, "5 Songs For Initiation," in 2017. The capstone of the year was the unveiling of his fifth album, "Graduation," in December.
The year 2018 marked a significant milestone in Giriboy's career as he assumed the role of co-CEO at WEDAPLUGG Records, alongside Swings, his labelmate and CEO at Just Music. This strategic move underscored Giriboy's influence and entrepreneurial spirit within the dynamic realm of South Korean music.
