About (G)I-DLE
(G)I-dle, a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2018, consists of five talented members: Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua. Originally a six-member group, they became a quintet after Soojin left on August 14, 2021. Known for their creativity and ability to produce their own music, (G)I-dle has made a significant impact in the K-pop industry, especially outside the top four entertainment companies.
The group made their debut with the EP I Am on May 2, 2018, featuring the hit single "Latata." Though they had moderate success initially, their breakthrough came in 2022 with the release of their first studio album, I Never Die. The album's lead single, "Tomboy," became a major hit, topping the Circle Digital Chart in South Korea. The success of "Tomboy" was followed by another chart-topping single, "Nxde," making (G)I-dle the only artist in 2022 to have two songs achieve a perfect all-kill, meaning they topped all major South Korean music charts. "Nxde" also helped them make history as the first act from an independent label to debut on the US Billboard Pop Airplay chart with a non-English song.
