Eslabon Armado is a popular American regional Mexican group formed in 2017. The group initially started as a trio comprising brothers Pedro Tovar and Brian Tovar, along with their friend Gabriel Hidalgo. Influenced by their parents' musical preferences, they began studying and playing Sierreña music, as well as other regional Mexican genres like norteño and ranchera.
Their live performance videos on platforms like YouTube and TikTok garnered attention from record labels, eventually leading to their discovery by Ángel del Villar, who signed them to DEL Records.
In 2020, Eslabon Armado made their breakthrough with the release of their first singles, "Con Tus Besos" and "La Trokita." Both songs achieved success on the Hot Latin Songs chart, reaching numbers 15 and 37, respectively. Their debut album, "Tu Veneno Mortal," was released on April 6, 2020. Later that year, they followed up with two more albums, "Vibras de Noche" in July and "Corta Venas" in December. All three albums topped the Regional Mexican Albums chart, with the first two earning platinum certification in the United States. Gabriel Hidalgo later departed from the group.
In June 2021, Eslabon Armado released their fourth album, "Tu Veneno Mortal, Vol. 2." During that year, Ulises González joined the group, restoring them to a trio lineup. They also collaborated with DannyLux on the highly successful song "Jugaste y Sufrí," which reached number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking their first appearance on the chart. At the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards and Latin American Music Awards, they received accolades for their music, winning awards such as Duo/Group Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year and Favorite Regional Mexican Duo or Group.
In May 2022, Damian Pacheco joined Eslabon Armado, and they released their fifth album, "Nostalgia." The album continued their streak of success, securing the top spot on the Regional Mexican Albums chart and even reaching number 9 on the Billboard 200, becoming the first Regional Mexican album to achieve a top 10 position on that chart.
In March 2023, Eslabon Armado unveiled the song "Ella Baila Sola," featuring singer Peso Pluma. The track quickly gained popularity on TikTok and climbed to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking their highest chart appearance to date. Additionally, "Ella Baila Sola" claimed the number-one spot on the Hot Latin Songs chart, becoming the group's first chart-topping song in that category.
