Daijon Cotty Davis (born August 3, 1999) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. He is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is professionally known as DC the Don. He is also known for his former basketball career as a player with the Amateur Athletic Union organization.
In 2017, Davis made waves with his single "Everything 1K," which caught the attention of NBA player Lonzo Ball. He wrote and recorded the song in just ten minutes, showcasing his natural talent and ability to create catchy tracks. Two years later, in 2019, he released "3AM Freestyle" on the WorldStarHipHop YouTube channel, further cementing his position in the rap scene.
Davis signed to Run Music LLC, a family-owned label, but encountered issues with the label, leading him to begin his departure from the company in 2019. He used the phrase "FREE DC" to draw attention to his situation, and eventually parted ways with Run Music in mid-2020. He is now signed to Rostrum Records, a well-respected label known for its work with artists such as Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller.
In 2020, Davis' song "Worst Day" gained popularity after being featured on the deluxe version of his debut album, "Come As You Are." He continued to build on his success with the release of "Notice Me" in August 2021 and "What Now?" in September 2021.
Sadly, in January 2022, Davis was unable to perform at a scheduled show in Houston, Texas alongside his frequent collaborator Sad Frosty due to the latter's passing just days before the performance. Despite this tragedy, Davis remained resilient and continued to release new music, dropping "PSA" in February 2022 as the final single for his second album, "My Own Worst Enemy."
In May 2022, he appeared on American rapper yvngxchris' album "Virality" on the track "QuikkSkope," showcasing his versatility and willingness to collaborate with other artists. And in October 2022, Davis released a powerful single titled "Suicide" with American rapper midwxst, once again highlighting his talent for producing thought-provoking and emotive music.
