    About Cornelia Jakobs

Anna Cornelia Jakobsdotter Samuelsson (born March 9, 1992) was born in Nacka Municipality, Sweden. She is a Swedish singer and songwriter known for her powerful vocals and emotional performances. She is professionally known as Cornelia Jakobs. She gained international attention in 2022 when she represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Hold Me Closer," where she finished in an impressive fourth place. However, her journey in music began long before that. In 2008, Cornelia first stepped into the spotlight by auditioning for the Swedish version of Idol. Although she was criticized by the judges, with one even mocking her, she didn't let that hold her back.

In an interesting turn of events, one of those judges, Anders Bagge, would later apologize to her when they both participated in Melodifestivalen 2022. He acknowledged her talent, saying, "ѕh¡t, how wrong you can be". Before her solo success, Cornelia was part of the girl group Love Generation, which competed in Melodifestivalen in both 2011 and 2012. Their song "Dance Alone" peaked at number 26 on the Swedish charts, gaining them some attention. Over the years, Cornelia honed her skills not only as a performer but also as a songwriter. In 2020, she composed and sang "Weight of the World," which became the soundtrack for the HBO Nordic series Björnstad.
