    Gaynor Hopkins (born June 8, 1951) was born in Skewen, Neath, Wales. She is a Welsh singer known for her distinctive husky voice, which has become her signature. She is professionally known as Bonnie Tyler, emerged onto the music scene in the late 1970s. Tyler gained initial recognition with the release of her 1977 album "The World Starts Tonight", which featured standout tracks like "Lost in France" and "More Than a Lover". However, it was her single "It's a Heartache" from the same album that truly catapulted her to international fame, peaking at number four on the UK Singles Chart and reaching number three on the US Billboard Hot 100.

    In the 1980s, Tyler's career soared to new heights when she collaborated with renowned songwriter and producer Jim Steinman. Together, they crafted some of her most iconic hits, including "Total Eclipse of the Heart", the lead single from her 1983 album "Faster Than the Speed of Night". Steinman's genius also produced another chart-topper for Tyler, "Holding Out for a Hero".
