Kim Han-bin (born October 22, 1996) was born in Cheonan, South Chungcheong, South Korea. He is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and even a dancer. He is professionally known as B.I. B.I initially gained prominence as the charismatic leader of the South Korean boy band iKon, which was under the management of YG Entertainment until his departure in 2019. His influence extended beyond the stage, as he was the sole record producer for all of iKon's releases.
One of his standout achievements was his contributions to iKon's second studio album, "Return." The lead single from this album, "Love Scenario," became a massive hit, earning B.I the prestigious "Songwriter of the Year" award at the 2018 Melon Music Awards. This recognition underscored his remarkable songwriting prowess and creativity.
In 2021, B.I embarked on a new chapter in his career by debuting as a solo artist under his self-founded label, 131. He made a powerful statement with his self-written charity single album, "Midnight Blue (Love Streaming)," and followed it up with a full-length charity studio album titled "Waterfall." Notably, he released "Cosmos," the first half of his self-written second studio album, dedicated to themes of youth and love, in November 2021.
The year 2022 saw B.I's global ambitions take shape with his album project titled "Love or Loved." He started this project with the single "BTBT" in May, and later in November, he dropped the EP "Love or Loved Part.1," captivating fans worldwide with his music and lyrics.
Continuing his artistic journey, B.I released his highly anticipated second studio album, "To Die For," on June 1, 2023, further solidifying his status as a versatile and influential artist in the ever-evolving landscape of K-pop and beyond.
