Album Overview
"Hood Poet" is the fourth studio album by American rapper Polo G, released on August 9, 2024, through Columbia Records. The album features collaborations with artists such as 42 Dugg, Fridayy, Future, GloRilla, G Herbo, Hunxho, Offset, Lil Durk, and The Kid Laroi. The production was led by Southside, Allen Ritter, and Smatt Sertified, with help from other producers like ATL Jacob, Cubeatz, Dr. Luke, and TM88, among others. This album follows Polo G’s previous deluxe album, Hall of Fame 2.0 (2021).
The album was promoted through four singles: "Distraction," "Barely Holdin' On," "Angels in the Sky," and "We Uh Shoot" featuring Lil Durk. "Distraction," the first single, was released on June 3, 2022, after a trailer featuring YouTuber Kai Cenat. It reached number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single, "Barely Holdin' On," came out on August 18, 2023, and peaked at number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Angels in the Sky," the third single, was released on May 31, 2024. The final single, "We Uh Shoot" featuring Lil Durk, dropped on August 2, 2024.
